School Holidays in Glasgow 2016

As 2016 approaches and thoughts turn to making sure that another year doesn’t pass you by, spare a thought for all those Glasgow parents who can’t just drop everything a go where their hearts tell them. With this in mind here are my thoughts on how to entertain yourselves and your kids in 2016. There are lots of great places which you can visit during your school holidays in Glasgow. Some of the most popular destinations are:
1. Glasgow Science Center:

It is one of the most popular places to go in the school holidays. The science center has lots of fun activities. There’s the ‘ Be creative” Area where you can show off your creativity and build something unique and interesting. You can also go the planetarium which takes you to a completely different universe and allows you to explore the mystery of the stars. Apart from that, it has a IMAX cinema with a huge screen and great sound system.

2. The Tall Ship at Riverside:

The Tall Ship (also known as The Glenlee) is one of only five Cyldebuilt sailing ships that are still afloat. It offers nautically themed events and some fun tours. There is also an audio guide facility that allows you to search every nook and corner of the ship, including the Captain’s Cabin. On every Wednesdays, there are free tours guided by the volunteers which the children can enjoy.

3. THE CLIMBING ACADEMY BOULDER CLUB:

This is a great place for the thrill seekers. It has good facilities for adults as well as kids from age 8 to 16. It is like a course and you will have to work your way up through different levels. There are 5 levels altogether. On the completion of each level, you will also receive a certificate. If you really have a passion for climbing, then you can also join their squad and participate in national and international tournaments.

4. WAVERLEY EXCURSIONS:

This is one of the best ways to spend your school holidays. You will be taken to the seaside in the Cruise Ship Balmoral. It is a great, fun way to travel and will really make the kids happy. There are leisure areas in the ship which allows you to relax and also some sports related activities to keep you busy. You get full access to Britain’s coasts, islands and rivers.

5. LAGOON LEISURE CENTER:

If you want to enjoy a nice pool experience in the holidays, then this will be the ideal place to go. Their leisure pool has a wave machine and also comes with an amazing flume slide which will delight the thrill seekers. However, make sure that you adjust yourself of the depth of the pool first. You will also find lots of sports activities here. Some of the activities include aerobics, badminton and line dancing.
